The Jio IPO allotment date is Monday 26 October 2026. Jio Platforms closed the ₹30,213 crore issue on 23 October subscribed 22.19 times, with refunds and share credits due on 27 October and a tentative BSE and NSE listing in India on 28 October. Retail investors bid 2.72 times their quota.

What the Final Subscription Figures Show

The issue was covered 22.19 times overall at the last widely published reading, taken at 7:00 pm India Standard Time on 23 October 2026, the day bidding closed. Institutional money did almost all of the work.

Investor categoryTimes subscribed
Qualified institutional buyers (QIB)70.55
Non-institutional investors (NII)14.00
Retail individual investors2.72
Reliance Industries shareholders’ quota7.60
Employees2.93
Overall22.19

A qualified institutional buyer is a registered institution such as a mutual fund, insurer or foreign portfolio investor. A non-institutional investor is an individual or body bidding more than ₹2 lakh, which places them above the retail band.

Readings taken minutes apart do not agree. A 7:28 pm snapshot on the IPO data site Chittorgarh put the overall figure at 21.36 times and the institutional book at 67.15 times, against 22.19 times and 70.55 times in the 7:00 pm table. Both are interim readings of a number that was still settling. The exchanges publish the definitive tally alongside the basis of allotment.

Why 22.19 Times Was Measured Against 19.75 Crore Shares

The subscription multiple was calculated against 19,75,25,934 shares, not the 27 crore shares the company issued. The difference is the anchor book, and most coverage prints both numbers without reconciling them.

Anchor investors are large institutions allotted shares one day before the public book opens, at a price fixed in advance and with a lock-in on part of the holding. Jio Platforms allotted ₹8,109.85 crore of shares to 212 anchor investors on 19 October 2026, according to an exchange filing reported that day. At the ₹1,119 upper band, that accounts for 7,24,74,066 shares.

Subtract those from the 27 crore fresh shares and 19,75,25,934 are left — exactly the net offer figure Business Today cited from exchange data. So the 22.19 times headline describes demand for roughly three-quarters of the issue, after the anchors had already taken their share.

The entire ₹30,213 crore is a fresh issue of new shares, with no offer for sale. No existing shareholder sold down, so every rupee raised goes to the company rather than to a selling investor. The price band and the stated use of proceeds were set out when the issue was announced.

Jio IPO Allotment Date and the Rest of the Official Timetable

As of 25 October 2026, the issue timetable for this India-listed offering runs as follows, and every date after the close is labelled tentative in the offer documents.

  1. Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 October 2026: The bidding window, now closed.
  2. Monday 26 October 2026: Basis of allotment finalised and allotment status made available.
  3. Tuesday 27 October 2026: Refunds initiated for unsuccessful bids and shares credited to demat accounts.
  4. Wednesday 28 October 2026: Listing and trading begin on the BSE and the NSE.

One trade outlet, TelecomTalk, gave 25 October as the allotment date. The detailed timetables published by Chittorgarh, Zerodha and Trendlyne all give 26 October, and that is the date carried here. Jio Platforms has not published a confirmed listing date of its own; the offer documents describe 28 October as tentative.

What a 2.72 Times Retail Book Means for Allotment

An oversubscribed retail category is settled by lot, not pro rata. Indian rules guarantee every successful retail applicant at least one lot, so when the category is covered more than once the registrar runs a computerised draw rather than scaling everybody’s allocation down.

At 2.72 times, the retail book is the least crowded of the main categories by a wide margin, while institutional demand ran at more than 70 times. The share each category actually receives is set by the basis of allotment, which is not published until 26 October. Third-party estimates of allotment odds circulating before that date are not official figures.

The retail lot is 12 shares, or ₹13,428 at the ₹1,119 upper band. Applicants can check their status through the registrar, KFin Technologies, at its IPO allotment status page, or through the BSE’s application status page, once the basis of allotment has been finalised.

The Application Record, and What It Does Not Count

Jio Platforms said on 23 October that the issue had passed one crore — 10 million — applications, which it described as a first for any public offering worldwide. The company said the mark was reached with about five hours of bidding left, and linked the response to the legacy of Reliance founder Dhirubhai Ambani.

The previous benchmark cited is Waaree Energies, at roughly 97 lakh applications. Business Today counted 1.08 crore applications as of 1:15 pm on 23 October. A higher final tally of about 1.38 to 1.39 crore has appeared in individual reports, which could not be matched in a second independent source and is left out of the figures above.

No independent record-keeper has certified the claim, and the count measures applications rather than investors or allotments. One person may file one application; a single application does not become a shareholding until the registrar allots shares against it.

What Is Not Settled Yet

  • The definitive subscription tally: Published readings range from 21.33 to 22.19 times depending on the snapshot time.
  • The basis of allotment: Due on 26 October, and the only document that fixes what each category receives.
  • The listing date: 28 October is tentative until the exchanges confirm it.
  • The final application count: The company stated the one crore milestone during bidding, not a closing figure.

Grey market premium figures of roughly ₹244 to ₹251 a share have circulated widely. These are unofficial, unregulated quotes from an off-exchange market. No exchange, the Securities and Exchange Board of India or the company publishes them, and they are not an indication of a listing price.
