Mason Ramsey, the boy who went viral yodeling in a Walmart in 2018, is 19 and still making country music. Big Loud and Atlantic dropped him in 2025, along with his agency and his manager. He signed to Sandlot Records and released a second album, Outlaw in Love, on 14 August 2026.

What Is Mason Ramsey Doing Now?

Ramsey is recording and performing as an artist on Sandlot Records, an independent label. As of 26 October 2026, his most recent release is Outlaw in Love, a 12-track album produced by JKash that came out on 14 August 2026.

He has described it as the most honest he has ever been in his music, and said the songs tell the story of where he has been, what he has learned and who he is becoming. The title track and “Heart in Oklahoma” were picked out as standouts in coverage of the release.

It is his second studio album. The first, I’ll See You in My Dreams, arrived on 20 September 2024 while he was still with Atlantic.

Why Did Mason Ramsey Lose His Record Deal?

Ramsey lost his record deal, his booking agency and his manager over the course of 2025, and no public reason has been given by any party. He disclosed all three departures himself in an Instagram post on 6 January 2026, writing that the previous year had been one of the most difficult of his life.

His recording output had already slowed to almost nothing. His only release of 2025 was “Live Lonely”, a duet with Harper Grace issued on 7 February that year.

In the same post he said he had stepped away from social media to get his business and his head straight, and that he had assembled an entirely new team. Neither Big Loud nor Atlantic has commented publicly on the split.

Who Signed Him After Big Loud and Atlantic?

Sandlot Records signed Ramsey in 2026. The label was founded by JKash, the Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer who went on to produce his album.

Three Sandlot singles preceded the record:

  • 20 February 2026: “That Somebody”, his first release after the label change.
  • 3 April 2026: “Faith”.
  • 24 July 2026: “Hey There Trouble”, the lead single from the album.

Leaving a major label for a smaller one is a route plenty of artists have taken, by choice as well as by circumstance, among them Megan Thee Stallion.

Did Mason Ramsey Ever Stop Releasing Music?

No. He kept putting out records through the years when many people assumed he had vanished, though the pace was uneven.

  • 20 July 2018: Famous, his debut EP, released months after the viral video.
  • 26 July 2019: Twang, a second EP.
  • 20 October 2023: Falls Into Place, an EP that ended a four-year gap in new projects.
  • 20 September 2024: I’ll See You in My Dreams, a 14-track debut album produced by Dan Fernandez.
  • 15 November 2024: Merry Christmas Baby, a Christmas EP.

The four years between Twang in 2019 and Falls Into Place in 2023 are where the impression of a disappearance comes from. He was a teenager for all of it.

He Went Back on the Road in September 2026

Ramsey returned to live performance in the months around the album. He played the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on 25 July 2026, where he performed “Hey There Trouble” live for the first time.

He then joined Waylon Wyatt’s Dustpiles Tour as a special guest for seven dates in early September 2026:

  • 4 September: Cain’s Ballroom, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
  • 5 September: Ozark Music Hall, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
  • 6 September: The Waiting Room, Omaha, Nebraska.
  • 8 September: The Hat, Manhattan, Kansas.
  • 10 September: Phil Long Music Hall, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
  • 11 September: Ogden Theatre, Denver, Colorado.
  • 12 September: The Grand at The Complex, Salt Lake City, Utah.

No further tour dates had been confirmed for the rest of 2026 as of 26 October.

How the Walmart Video Made Him Famous

Ramsey was 11 when a video of him yodeling Hank Williams’ “Lovesick Blues” in a Walmart in Harrisburg, Illinois, spread online in March 2018. He was shopping with his grandparents, who raised him, when a passer-by heard him singing and asked to film it.

The clip moved fast. He appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, performed at the Grand Ole Opry, and was brought on stage by the producer Whethan at Coachella on 13 April 2018.

Atlantic Records and the Nashville label Big Loud signed him in late April 2018, and his debut single “Famous” followed that July alongside the EP of the same name.
