Breeding dogs need healthy food with high amounts of protein and vitamins. Here are some excellent healthy food ideas(veg & non-veg) for breeding dogs:
1) Boiled Sweet Potato & Fruits
Most dogs like their meals with a chunk of meat(chicken), but if you are vegetarian, you might not like seeing or giving meat to your dog. So, instead of providing meat as high protein food, you can give your dog boiled sweet potato or fruits. When it comes to fruits, there are only some fruits that dogs like; they are watermelon, mango, guava, banana, etc. You can also give cucumber or sugarcane.
Make sure to avoid providing citrus fruits; it might hurt your dog’s throat and stomach. Although you can be vegetarian, if your dog loves meat (every dog does), then give your dog some meat at least once in a while.
2) Boiled Eggs
Boiled eggs have a lot of protein in them, so you can give boiled eggs to breeding dogs to keep them healthy and fit. Avoid giving human food like chapatis or biscuits with boiled eggs because it has gluten inside it, and gluten can harm a dog’s stomach. Instead, you can give boiled eggs with meat or dog food.
Boiled eggs have a proper amount of vitamins, too, and if you stick to giving your organic dog eggs instead of chemical contained, then it’s a better option for the dog’s health. You can stick to giving one egg per day for better nutrition for your dog. You can give more than one egg, but ask the vet doctor for proper instructions before that.
3) Boiled Chicken with Rice
Chicken and meat are my favorite foods for dogs. However, you can give breeding dogs boiled chicken and rice for better proteins and vitamins. Chicken has a high amount of protein and vitamins, so when you give boiled chicken to breeding dogs, it can keep them healthy and fit. You can also include chicken broth that you get while boiling the chicken in your dog’s meal because it contains equal amounts of protein.
Rice is an optional choice with boiled chicken. If you give the boiled chicken to breeding dogs, you can avoid rice but sometimes breeding dogs like to eat food with some combinations. So, cooked chicken and rice are better. Remember, don’t add salt or any other spices while boiling chicken for breeding dogs.
4) Dog Food
If you are confused about what healthy food you can give to your breeding dogs, you can buy dog food from online stores like PETstock. Always check for the ingredients in the dog food. If brought right, then outside dog foods have a proper amount of nutrition and proteins inside them. So instead of pondering over ideas for what to feed your dog, you can simply buy from outside.
Moreover, food from the outside has meat and other favorite food that dogs like, so your dog will eat it immediately.
5) Peanut Butter
Peanut butter is famous for its nutritional benefits. Dogs can eat peanut butter, too, provided it does not contain hydrogenated oils or additional sweeteners in it. Breeding dogs need proper protein and vitamins, and peanuts have adequate nutrition. Before you give your dogs peanut butter, check out whether your dog is lactose intolerant or not. S
ome dogs are allergic to milk-related products. So, it’s better to be sure about your dog’s preference. Although peanut butter has high proteins, you can also give cheese cubes if breeding dogs are not allergic to milk products.
6) Fish
Dogs love fish. You can feed fish to your dog without any additional oil and spices. Try to feed them boneless fish or try taking out the bones before feeding. Dogs like to eat properly cooked fish without any additional ingredients.
Fish has proteins and Vitamins that will make your dog’s health better. So, for a breeding dog, you can start with giving a chunk of fish first, check whether your dog likes it or not, and then give it some more if your dog likes it. Fish and eggs have equal amounts of nutrition, so you can give fish and boiled eggs together to your dogs.
