Marty Copeland should not be confused with Clark David Mayer. Mayer, the great-grandson of televangelist Kenneth Copeland, died at age 2. He was pulled from a swimming pool at his grandmother’s Texas home. The medical examiner ruled Mayer’s death an accidental drowning.
The incident occurred on May 4, 2021. Mayer’s father, Caleb, found him unconscious in the pool. Mayer was rushed to a Fort Worth hospital and pronounced dead at 11:05 a.m. His grandmother, Kellie Copeland, is Kenneth Copeland’s daughter.
Kenneth Copeland released a statement expressing faith and gratitude for public prayers and support.
