The Atlassian cloud price increase takes effect at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time on 13 October 2026. Jira and Confluence Standard and Premium list prices rise 7% below 5,000 seats and 10% at or above it, with Enterprise plans up 8%. A separate usage-billing change follows on 3 December.

What Changes at Midnight Pacific on 13 October

Atlassian is raising published list prices across most of its cloud portfolio, not changing what the products do. List price is the rate on Atlassian’s own pricing pages; customers on custom-negotiated contracts pay what their contract says.

The switchover moment is 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time on 13 October 2026, which is 07:00 UTC the same day and 12:30 p.m. India Standard Time. The time zone matters because the cut-off for pricing at the old rate runs to the end of 12 October Pacific Time, not to the end of 12 October wherever the customer happens to be.

As of 13 October 2026, the new list prices apply worldwide to new purchases, renewals and upgrades in Atlassian Cloud. Atlassian notified billing admin contacts by email on 28 August 2026 and sent a reminder on 29 September 2026, according to the Atlassian partner E7 Solutions.

The Increases by Product and Plan

The size of the rise depends on the product, the plan and, for three of them, the seat count. The figures below are consistent across three independent Atlassian partners: E7 Solutions, Eficode and Wynpro.

ProductPlanList price change
Jira CloudStandard, PremiumUp 7% under 5,000 seats; up 10% at 5,000 seats or more
Jira CloudEnterpriseUp 8%
Confluence CloudStandard, PremiumUp 7% under 5,000 seats; up 10% at 5,000 seats or more

Jira Service Management, Service CollectionEnterpriseUp 10%
Bitbucket CloudPremiumUp 10%
Jira Product DiscoveryStandard, PremiumUp 5%
Atlassian GuardStandardUp 3%
Atlassian GuardPremiumUp 5%

Atlassian Government Cloud moves on the same date, with Jira and Confluence Enterprise up 8%, Jira Service Management Enterprise up 10% and Atlassian Guard Premium up 5%. Japanese yen prices for cloud and Data Center rise about 7.3%, a currency-specific adjustment on top of the product changes, according to E7 Solutions.

Bitbucket Cloud Standard also loses its five-user minimum tier. Eficode notes that Atlassian’s published tables include tier-specific exceptions and rounded annual figures, so a given subscription can land slightly off the headline percentage.

Which Subscriptions Move to the New Price, and When

The increase does not reach every customer on 13 October. It reaches each subscription at its next billing or quoting event.

  • Monthly subscriptions: The new price applies to bills issued on or after 13 October 2026.
  • Auto-renewing annual subscriptions: The new price applies to bills issued on or after 13 October 2026.
  • Annual subscriptions bought by quote: The new price applies to quotes generated or modified on or after 13 October 2026.
  • New purchases, added products and upgrades: The new list price applies from 13 October 2026.
  • Custom-negotiated agreements: These follow their own terms, and Enterprise License Agreement customers are not affected, according to E7 Solutions.

Because renewals are repriced at the current list rate, a renewal invoice can rise by more than the headline percentage. Eficode makes the point directly: a customer leaving a multi-year or discounted arrangement is moving from an old negotiated rate to the new list rate, and the gap between those two is not the 7%.

How the Quote Window Works

A quote generated before 13 October 2026 Pacific Time is honoured at the previous price until it expires, which makes 12 October Pacific Time the last day a quote can be issued at the old rate.

Several conditions attach to that, as set out by E7 Solutions:

  1. Editing a quote resets it: Changing line items on an open quote after the cut-off recalculates the whole quote at the new pricing.
  2. Site changes delete a quote: Activating or deactivating licences or trials on a cloud site automatically voids an open quote, and any replacement issued after the cut-off carries the new price.
  3. Extensions are not uniform: New purchases and upgrades follow one extension policy; renewals and downgrades follow another, and renewal extensions are approved case by case.
  4. Early annual renewal has a limit: Renewing an annual subscription early generally requires being within 90 days of the renewal date.
  5. Monthly-to-annual switches have an outer date: Eficode reports that quotes for such a switch cannot be extended beyond 11 November 2026 Pacific Time.

These rules come from Atlassian partner documentation rather than a public Atlassian announcement page, and individual accounts can differ. Atlassian’s own billing documentation and a customer’s billing admin contact are the authoritative record for a specific subscription.

A Second Cost Change Arrives on 3 December

The 13 October change is a list-price rise. A separate change to how AI usage is billed starts on 3 December 2026, and Atlassian has published that one itself. Its documentation states: “On December 3, 2026, extra usage billing takes effect for Rovo credits.”

Rovo credits are the unit Atlassian uses to meter its AI features. Each plan includes a monthly allowance per user, pooled across the organisation, and unused credits do not roll over.

Confluence2570150
Service Collection2507001,500
Teamwork Collection2507001,500

Credits per user per month, as published by Atlassian. Beyond the allowance, Atlassian gives the list price “at this time” as $0.01 per credit, or $10 per 1,000 credits, with prepaid packs offering volume discounts on annual purchases.

The default setting is the part that changes bills without anyone choosing it. Atlassian says “extra usage is enabled by default”, and organisation and billing admins can switch it off or set a spending limit in Atlassian Administration. If extra usage is off, billable AI interactions pause once the allowance runs out; if a spending cap is set, they pause when the cap is reached, until the next monthly reset or more credits are bought.

Until 3 December, usage is visible in Atlassian Administration but is not billed.

What Is Not Changing

Three things sit outside this announcement, which matters because the cost of an Atlassian estate is rarely just the Atlassian subscription.

Marketplace Partner app prices are not changing as a direct result of the October update, although individual app vendors set their own prices and can change them independently. Atlassian Data Center is not part of the 13 October cloud update; its own increase of roughly 15% took effect in February 2026, as reported by Wynpro. And the functionality of the plans is unchanged, so this is a price move rather than a repackaging.

Atlassian’s earlier cloud increases and this one follow a pattern now common in enterprise software: annual list-price rises on seat-based plans, alongside a shift of AI features onto metered billing. Microsoft made a comparable change on 1 October 2026, when it applied a 5% uplift to monthly-billed CSP software subscriptions. Atlassian itself has been in the news this month for a separate reason, a security defect covered in our report on the Atlassian vulnerability CVE-2026-21589.

Frequently Asked Questions

When Does the Atlassian Cloud Price Increase Take Effect?

At 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time on 13 October 2026, which is 07:00 UTC and 12:30 p.m. India Standard Time the same day. It applies to new purchases, renewals and upgrades from that moment.

How Much Are Jira and Confluence Going Up?

Standard and Premium list prices rise 7% for organisations under 5,000 seats and 10% at 5,000 seats or more. Enterprise plans rise 8%. Figures are list-price changes, not the change on any individual invoice.

Does a Quote Issued Before 13 October Still Hold?

Yes, until the quote expires, provided it is not edited and the cloud site’s licences are not changed. Either of those actions causes the quote to be recalculated or voided at the new price.

What Changes on 3 December 2026?

Extra usage billing begins for Rovo credits, Atlassian’s AI metering unit. Usage beyond the included monthly allowance is charged at a list price of $0.01 per credit, and extra usage is on by default unless an admin disables it or sets a spending limit.

Are Marketplace Apps and Data Center Affected?

Marketplace Partner app prices are not changing as a direct result of this update, though vendors set their own prices. Data Center is outside the October cloud change; its own increase took effect in February 2026.
