Xiaomi 18 Fold goes on sale in mainland China on 10 September 2026, priced from 10,999 yuan, about $1,640. It is the first Xiaomi phone to run the company’s own XRing O3 processor. Xiaomi showed the handset at IFA in Berlin but has announced no sale date outside China.
Xiaomi 18 Fold Price and Configurations

Only the two 1TB variants carry the LPDDR6 memory Xiaomi has been promoting. The cheaper three use LPDDR5X with UFS 4.1 storage, so the headline memory technology is not what most buyers at the entry price will get. The silicon nitride ceramic edition is a limited run of 1,500 units.
Where You Can Actually Buy It
Mainland China, and nowhere else that Xiaomi has confirmed. Pre-orders opened in China ahead of a sales start at 10am China time on 10 September 2026.
The Berlin appearance is easy to misread. Xiaomi displayed the 18 Fold at IFA 2026, its first outing at the show, on a stand carrying more than 380 products. Showing a phone at a European trade fair is not a commitment to sell it there, and Xiaomi has given no European price, no carrier partners and no release window.
History points the same way. Every previous Xiaomi foldable in the Mix Fold line stayed in China: the original Mi Mix Fold in 2021, then the Mix Fold 2, Mix Fold 3 and Mix Fold 4. Xiaomi’s communications director said at the time that the Mix Fold 3 would be available exclusively in mainland China.
As of 9 September 2026, Xiaomi has neither confirmed nor ruled out an international release. Treat any specific global launch date you see as unconfirmed.
What the XRing O3 Chip Is
The XRing O3 is Xiaomi’s own flagship system-on-chip, the successor to the XRing O1 it introduced in 2025, and the 18 Fold is its first phone. That matters because it moves Xiaomi off Qualcomm silicon at the top of its range.
Xiaomi says the chip is built on a 3-nanometre process at TSMC, the Taiwanese contract manufacturer, and packs 24 billion transistors into a 133-square-millimetre die, a 26 per cent transistor increase on the XRing O1.
- CPU: ten cores, all large, with two prime cores at up to 4.35GHz, four at 3.68GHz and four at 3.15GHz.
- GPU: a 16-core design Xiaomi calls G2-Ultra NX.
- Memory: the first mobile chip to support LPDDR6, which Xiaomi rates at up to 10,667Mbps and 113.8GB/s of bandwidth, 48 per cent above the XRing O1.
- Claimed gains: 60 per cent more performance and 25 per cent lower power draw than the previous generation.
Xiaomi also says the chip is the first to pass 5 million points in the AnTuTu benchmark, quoting a score above 5.22 million. That is the company’s own figure and has not been independently reproduced. Benchmark claims from chip vendors are worth treating as a ceiling rather than a typical result, a caveat that applies equally to the Snapdragon and Tensor comparisons buyers usually rely on.
Screens, Camera and Battery
Xiaomi calls the format a “mid-fold”: wider and shorter than the tall, narrow foldables it sold before, and closer in shape to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8.
- Outer display: 5.38 inches, 1712 x 1168 pixels, 120Hz.
- Inner display: 7.58 inches, 2364 x 1672 pixels, 120Hz, both panels rated at 4,000 nits peak brightness.
- Size and weight: 219 grams, 5.02mm unfolded and 10.68mm folded.
- Cameras: Leica-tuned, with a 200-megapixel main sensor at f/1.7, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto at 3.5x optical zoom with stabilisation, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide at f/2.4 and a 16-megapixel front camera.
- Battery: 6,000mAh using a silicon-carbon cell, with 67W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Engadget, which handled the phone at IFA, described it as the lightest foldable Xiaomi has made and the hinge as stronger than rival foldables’, while noting it is slightly thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold 8 despite the larger battery.
What Xiaomi Did Not Announce
Three omissions are worth noting before anyone imports one.
There is no IP rating. Engadget reported that Xiaomi gave no water or dust resistance rating for the 18 Fold at IFA, which is unusual for a flagship at this price and matters more on a hinged device than a sealed one.
There is no stated software support period, and no confirmation of which Google services the Chinese firmware includes, which is the practical obstacle for anyone buying a China-market Xiaomi phone from abroad.
And there is no non-China pricing. Flagship silicon has been pushing high-end phone prices up for several years, as the industry saw when Snapdragon’s flagship chip costs began feeding into retail prices, so a European price, if one ever comes, would not simply be the yuan figure converted.
