    A headhunter can be one person or a team of individuals or a company hired by a firm to find a suitable employee, on behalf of the employer. Whereas an IT recruiter hires a person for technical posts. They both are considered external recruiters, unlike HR who is an internal recruiter. They communicate with candidates, take their applications, take interviews and recruit them. The rules are:

    Speak freely and Communicate properly

    Always be clear about your requirements and job expectations. The communication bridge should be built strong between you and the recruiter or headhunter. If the job opening is suitable for you, if you are perfectly fit for the responsibility – must be known by the candidate. Say clear Yes or No if they reach you with a vacancy, they can’t wait and may offer to others. You should not overreact if they don’t get to you or don’t respond to your emails or calls, which means you may not be a perfect fit for a certain position.     Prepare a correct and proper Resume

    You must not exaggerate your resume. Using keywords about your abilities, extracurricular activities, experiences, strengths, etc, is a very good way to draw attention to your CV ( Curriculum Vitae ). Don’t put any wrong information about yourself which may ruin your reputation and harm your career and tag you as an irresponsible one for a long time. If you update yourself with new skills and activities, then you must inform your recruiter so that they can update it accordingly.

    Proper utilization and submission of your resume

    You must have control in your hand that your resume should not be forwarded to any other agencies without your concern. Also, it shouldn’t get changed, when you haven’t asked them to change anything. It may affect your profession when you get hired by a company. Don’t submit the CV to more than one recruiter. If the firm for which you will be selected, finds your CV to be repeated, you’ll be disqualified. Also, don’t cross the agency in which you have already submitted your CV to job and directly apply again to the company. In this case, also your impression will get ruined.

    Careful in case of signing and paying for any purpose

    Don’t sign any kind of deal or contract which binds you to an exclusive agreement to work with a particular agency for a certain amount of time. Also, don’t pay for any unauthorized matter. Because a good recruiter or headhunter will never ask you to pay. As they will get paid by the employer or proprietor after they get hired by the company. They are not to be paid by you directly. A percentage of around 20 % of your annual income will be the commission that goes to the recruiters by the firm or company you are working for.

    Make your network strong and large and don’t depend on recruiters completely

    Handing over your resume to a recruiter is not the only effort done by your side. Besides doing this you must and most necessarily build your network to communicate with people. Always remember that job recruitment is not only done by your approach solely, sourcing can also be a good way for you to get your dream job and also for the company or IT professionals to engage a suitable talent like you. The more you build your network strong and make it widen, the more information you will be able to get. Rely 5% on your recruiters and do 95% effort on your own to search for a job.

    Must ask questions and queries about your job
