These are the first steps you’ll take once you’re in your Account:
#1 Pre-activation checklist
In order to speed up the process of activating your account, we recommend completing the following tasks first:
Remember the username and password for your Apple ID or Google account. You’ll need them later to regain access to your phone.
If you’re activating from your phone, connect to WiFi. In this way, even if you lose service for a short time, you can still get instructions.
If you’re moving your phone number, you’ll need a recent bill from your old provider. You’ll need your old carrier’s account information to get a new number.
You can save any voicemails that have a special meaning to you. When you switch phone providers, you lose all of your previous voicemails.
#2 Transferring your number
There is a form to fill out if you are transferring your phone number from another carrier. Complete this form with your old phone bill so that we can move your phone number to Xfinity Mobile for you. If you’re switching carriers, you’ll also have to provide some additional information, such as your billing address, which should be the same as the one you used with the previous provider. Select “I want a new number” if you prefer a different phone number. Once activation is complete, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your new phone number.
#3 Activating your SIM card
The magic happens here. Xfinity Mobile will begin the process of switching you over to the service as soon as you select “Activate SIM.” Most major carriers will complete the transfer process in about 10 minutes if all of your information is correct. Please be aware that during this time period, you will not be able to use your phone to make calls. We’ll notify you via email once your account has been activated, along with instructions for the next steps.
#4 Inserting your new SIM card
In order to use your new SIM card, you must first activate it. If you’ve never done it before, here’s a step-by-by-step guide:
