The gpedit.msc or Local Group Policy Editor is an MMC (Microsoft Management Console) snap-in. It comes with a single user interface that helps you to manage the User Configuration and Computer Configuration settings of the Local Group Policy objects.

If you are unaware of how to open gpedit.msc on Windows 10, then this guide can help you a lot. Here we will help you grasp the easy ways through which you can open the gpedit.msc whenever you need it.

Hence, you are recommended to have a look at the guide discussed below.

Easy Ways to Open Local Group Policy Editor or gpedit.msc on Windows 10

There are a lot of ways that can help you to open the Local Group Policy Editor on your computer. You can perform the steps explained below:

Way 1: Using Run Command Box

It is one of the easiest ways to open the Local Group Policy Editor. To open this using the Run box, you can follow the steps given below:

    1. First and foremost, hit the R and Win key both at the same time from the keyboard to invoke the Run Dialog box.
    2. Afterward, you need to enter “gpedit.msc” in the Run Command box.
    3. Hit the Enter key to launch the Local Group Policy Editor on Windows 10 (else, you can also tap on the OK button to open it).

If you see that this process has failed to open the Local Group Policy Editor, then you can move on to the further ways described below.

    Way 2: Using Search Bar

    2. Next, either you can use the search function from the upper-right corner of the screen or search for the gpedit.msc manually.
    3. Once you get that, click twice on that to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
    4. At last, tap on the Yes button from the UAC prompt.

You can also create a shortcut for the Local Group Policy Editor. It will help you to open it without any hassle.

To do this, you can right-click on gpedit.msc and choose the ‘Send to’ option. Afterward, select the ‘Desktop (create shortcut)’ option from the list to create a shortcut.

    Concluding…
