A defective LED backlight, outdated firmware, defective cables, and faulty DMI can be the possible reasons behind the Hisense TV red light blinks 2 times.

The number of times the red light brings is actually an indication of the TV area that has encountered the problem. If you are trying to turn on the TV from its standby mode, then also the red light can blink twice.

To fix the red light blinking problem, you need to check whether the LED backlight strips are faulty. There would be no sound as well as no picture. In this case, you need to replace the LED black lights.

If you are not aware whether it is a software or hardware problem, then power cycling the TV can fix the error. Turn off the TV and unplug all the cables from the power outlet. Leave it for a minute or two, and then hold down the Power button on the TV for 30 seconds without turning it on. Now, plug in the cables and turn on the TV. This should clear the error and fix the red light blinking issues.

If Power cycling the TV is not enough, then we have 5 other troubleshooting hacks to help fix the Hisense TV flashing red light error.

    1. Check the power outlet and the cables

Verify whether the power outlet where you have connected the TV cables is functional. If it is defective, then the TV might not be able to gain a proper connection, and the red light will start blinking. If required, you can get a new Power surge protector and also repair the faulty power outlet.

Also, you must replace the defective power cord as it is unable to carry the sufficient power that is required for the TV. Moreover, if ignored, it can also lead to electrical accidents.

    2. Soft Reset the Hisense TV

If the Hisense TV red light blinks 2 times, then try a Soft reset. It won’t delete any pre-installed data.

To proceed – Discontinue all the devices connected to the TV, that includes secondary devices, such as speakers and cables. Also, unplug the TV from the power outlet. To drain the residual power, press and hold on to the power button for 30 seconds. Wait for another 30 minutes before you power on the Hisense TV. This should remove the minor glitches, and when you turn back the TV, you won’t find any red light blinking issue.

    3. Check whether the backlights are defective

If there is no picture on the screen, then probably the backlights have become defective.

To verify – take a flashlight and point it at the screen, and ensure that the TV is powered on while you are executing this step. Now, notice whether you can see the reflection of the light or dull images. If blurry images appear, this indicates that the TV backlight has become defective.

If you want a more accurate answer, then disassemble the TV and test the lamps in the panel. You can also use 2AA batteries to test the lamp. If you find the defective one, then replace it immediately. However, never opt for cheaper replacements. Also, try to replace the entire LED strip to prevent this error from recurring.

    4. Update the firmware

Updating the firmware ensures that your TV is free from random glitches. So, if you are still using outdated firmware, then go to Settings, select Support or About, select System Update, and check “Firmware For Upgrade”. Finally, select Upgrade, and this will automatically download and install the recent firmware.

    5. Factory reset the TV

This process is also known as Hard Reset, where all the configurations will get back to the manufacturing date of the TV. This will also remove all the software errors.

If you are using an older version of Hisense TV, then –

    • You need to press the Exit button from your remote and wait for 30 seconds.
    • Now, click on OK and turn off the TV.
    • When you turn on the TV, you will find it has been reset.

If you are using the latest Hisense TV model, then –

    • Press the Menu button on your remote.
    • When the screen prompts, select Support > Self Diagnosis > Reset.
    • To confirm your action, you need to enter the TV pin.
    • Your TV will be reset to its factory default settings.

Why does the Hisense TV blink red light?

The blinking lights are indicators in the form of code that help you to understand whether that TV has encountered any problem. Whenever you see the red light blinking, it probably keeps the TV either on standby mode, or you are unable to stream through the contents.

The red light blinking indicates –

    • If the red light blinks 2 times, there is a faulty backlight.
    • If the red light blinks 3 to 4 times, there is a defective internal circuit board.
    • 6 times red light blinking indicates the motherboard is defective or there is a fault in the inverter boards.
    • 10 times red light blinking indicates bad LED strips, along with a faulty power board.

Is your Hisense TV still blinking red 2 times?

Yes! If your TV is still blinking red 2 times, then the motherboard might be damaged, and you need to go ahead and contact the support team to fix the problem. If the claim is still under warranty, then you can replace the motherboard without any extra expenses.
