Mamata Banerjee Requested PM Modi to Postpone NEET 2020 & JEE Main 2020

On Monday, Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to postpone the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET 2020) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2020) which was to be held in September.

Also on Sunday Adhir Ranjan Chowdury, congress leader in the Lok Sabha, wrote to the Prime Minister urging him to postpone NEET and JEE.

In the last few days, students in West Bengal and many other states have been demanding to postponed these exams. The Left organization, The All India Students Association (AISA) has organized protests in Kolkata and other cities.

The West Bengal Education Department held a meeting in Kolkata on Monday afternoon, where officials addressed the pros and cons of postponing the academic year under state boards in secondary and higher secondary schools instead of curtailing the syllabus as previously suggested by some to help students cope with the syllabus.
