What to Expect in ‘Loki’ Season 2?
‘Loki’ season 2 will continue the story of Loki (Tom Hiddleston), a variant of the original Loki who escaped from the Avengers in 2012 with the Tesseract. He was captured by the Time Variance Authority (TVA), an organization that monitors and maintains the Sacred Timeline. He teamed up with Mobius (Owen Wilson), a TVA agent who wanted to use him to catch another Loki variant named Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), who was disrupting the timeline by killing TVA agents.
However, Loki and Sylvie developed a bond and discovered that the TVA was a lie, and that its workers were actually variants who had their memories erased. They also learned that the TVA was controlled by He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), a powerful being who created the Sacred Timeline to prevent a war between his variants from different realities. He offered Loki and Sylvie a choice: to either take over his role and keep the timeline intact or to kill him and unleash the multiverse.
Sylvie chose the latter option, and stabbed He Who Remains in the chest, sending Loki back to the TVA. However, Loki realized that he was in a different timeline, where the TVA was ruled by a statue of He Who Remains, who was revealed to be a variant of Kang the Conqueror, a notorious villain from the comics. Loki also found out that Mobius and Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku), his allies from the TVA, did not recognize him anymore.
‘Loki’ season 2 will explore the consequences of Sylvie’s decision, and how it affects Loki and the rest of the MCU. The show will also introduce new characters and scenarios, as well as bring back some familiar faces.
The cast of ‘Loki’ season 2 includes:
- Tom Hiddleston as Loki: Thor’s adoptive brother and God of Mischief, based on Norse mythology. He established a new timeline in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ as an alternative to Loki. He alternates between times to locate Sylvie and stop Kang.
- Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie: A variant of Loki who broke the timeline by killing He Who Remains in a misguided act of revenge. She is in love with Loki but also conflicted about her actions.
- Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius: A TVA agent who befriended Loki in the first season. He has regained his memories thanks to Casey’s device and is determined to help Loki and Sylvie.
- Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer: A former TVA judge who was loyal to He Who Remains. She escaped from the TVA after learning the truth about her origins and is now working for Kang.
- Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15: A former TVA hunter who rebelled against the organization after discovering her past life. She is now leading a resistance movement against Kang.
- Eugene Cordero as Casey: A TVA clerk who helped Loki in the first season. He has created a device that can restore the memories of TVA workers who have been brainwashed by Kang. He is also a comic relief character who provides some humor and levity to the show.
