Origin is a digital distribution platform for video games produced by Electronic Arts. For personal computers and mobile platforms, the software client of the platform is available. You may want to use the Origin client when you try to update a game on Windows 10 and you find that there is no error message in the folder. We identify some potentially known causes in this post that may trigger the error and then offer possible solutions to remedy the problem.

4 Easy Solution for Origin Folder does not exist – Origin error
If you’re faced with this origin folder does not exist error, you can try our recommended solutions below in no particular order and see if that helps to resolve the issue.
Fix 1: Run Origin as an administrator
Recent updates of the Windows or Origin may have changed anything about the executable original allowances and may not be able to access all the folders until updates can be accessed. You should therefore try running Origin as a manager and see if it helps.
Learn how:
- Locate your computer with the origin executable. If it is placed as a shortcut on your desktop, just right-click it and choose Properties from the context menu. If not, you’ll have to find your computer installer folder. If you changed the default folder during installation, make sure you navigate to it.
- Navigate in the Properties window to the Compatibility tab.
- Check the box next to the Run program as an administrator option under the Settings section.
- To make the changes effective, click Apply > OK.
See if the issue continues. Try the next fix, if so.
Fix 2: Choose a new installation folder
You may need to manually select the folder in which the game is installed if this issue happens with a single game on your computer. Do the following to select a new installation folder;
- To start the origin client, double-click the Origin icon on the desktop.
- When the Origin client opens, you can open your list of games by clicking on the Games entry menu on the top of the window. In the menus on the left of the home screen, you can also click on the My Game Library entry.
- Select the issue game from the list of installed games, right-click on its icon and select Update Game from the context menu.
- If there is no error in the folder, click the Option Choose New Folder.
- Check and pick the directory in which your game is installed. The update should continue as usual.
See if the issue continues. Try the next fix, if so.
Fix 3: Restore Origin’s game library to default settings
To restore the default game library, do the following;
- To start the origin customer, double-click the Origin icon on the desktop.
- Click on the arrow icon in the lower-left side of the window, next to your user name, from the home screen of the origin client.
- Click on the menu choice Application Settings.
- Navigate to the Settings tab Installs & Saves.
- Under the Default Restore button next to the location of the Game Library option in your computer section, confirm all prompts that may appear.
- Restart the original game update.
Now you can verify that your original client still has a problem with the folder. Try the next fix, if so.
Fix 4: Allow sufficient permissions
The game could be installed without proper permissions in an inaccessible folder. In this instance, there is no error message to supply sufficient authorization for the folder to settle the folder. Do what is below;
- Locate your computer with the game installation folder. You may be choosing a library folder, or the default folder of the library is Origin\Games.
- Right-click the folder where the game is installed (it is named after the game) and from the popup menu, select the Properties entry.
- Navigate to the security tab within the Properties window.
- To access advanced permissions settings, click the Advanced button at the bottom of the screen.
- Click on the main button on the left top of the screen in the new window.
- Type ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES under Enter the name of the object to select.
- Make sure that Allow is the Type option, and that this folder, subfolders, and files are the Applies to this option.
- Check the full control input in the Basic permissions section of the window.
- To make the changes effective, click OK.
Restart the Origin client to restart the update and verify if the problem is solved.
