Covid’s self-test kit CoviSelf is due to be on the market by the end of next week, says the Pune based manufacturing company.
Covid self-testing kit will be priced at ₹250, and will be available online, the firm said.
The Pune director of MyLab Discovery Solutions, Sujjet Jain, informed news agency ANI that CoviSelf, the first home test kit for Covid Testing will be available in the market by the end of next week.
“The company will start shipping out tests within a few days. Mylab current production capacity is 7 million tests per week and plans to increase its capacity to 10 million tests per week within 14 days,” the company said.
The test kits are launched in accordance with ICMR and a new advisory package is available at the end of Wednesday. However, indiscriminate checking is therefore not recommended.
Pune’s Mylab receives ICMR approval for India’s first self-use Rapid Antigen Test kit ‘CoviSelf’ for COVID-19.
“This test is for self-use. If you test positive via this there’s no need for RT-PCR test as per ICMR. Any adult can use this kit by reading our manual,”says Director pic.twitter.com/3Rz59rc72O

The tests are tracked using Mylab’s mobile app, which recommends that users after finishing this testing procedure press on an image of the test strip.
“This easy-to-use test combines with Myab’s AI-powered mobile app so that a user can know his/her positive status, submit the result to ICMR directly for traceability, and know what to do next in either case of result,” Mylab director Sujit Jain said.
Mylab said that this would relieve stress on already overloaded research laboratories and minimise testing delays in some areas of the world by more than 72 hours.
ICMR’s new advice and Mylab’s introduction of a test kit follows serious delays in the second wave test, as laboratories are overburdened with installation demands and still grappling with contaminated personnel’s manpower shortage.
